Do you see Problems or Puzzles?

28.07.2021

It’s safe to say that no one anticipated a global pandemic whilst detailing their annual brand plan in 2018/2019. With the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry adopting a digital approach in response to moving into the digital space as quickly as possible, we find ourselves presented with a rare and exciting opportunity to reinvent our relevance as we move forward into the future.

However, as we begin to move out of the pandemic and into the ‘next normal’, we are seeing our healthcare and pharmaceutical clients identify a need to reinvent and evolve their business plans and strategy. But facing the critical decision - what to prioritise first.

“The Paradox of Choice”, by Barry Schwartz (published in 2004), observes the common concept that being presented with too many choices can lead to a person feeling paralysed with fear over making the wrong one. This is normal. With so much uncertainty in what the future holds, knowing where and what to prioritise, can feel like an impossible task.

At NeoHealthHub, we wanted to understand when does an impossible task or problem, often seen as a negative “to be dealt with and overcome”, become a puzzle, often seen as a pleasure to solve?

Answer: When you apply a true organisational growth mindset, and you have leadership that relishes and welcomes puzzles.

Just look at the Oxford English dictionary definition:

Puzzles are defined as “a game, toy, or situation designed to test ingenuity or knowledge”. They are designed to exercise your problem-solving and critical thinking skills in an enjoyable and stimulating way, with the satisfaction of solving them at the end.

We believe if you approach your challenges and obstacles as puzzles, instead of problems, you allow yourself greater creative license to think more expansively.

This is exactly how our leadership team approaches problems - not as difficulties or negatives, but as puzzles that we love to solve.

We know the positive impact a true growth mindset can have on our approach to any obstacle we may face (learn more about True Growth Mindset); taking a more creative approach to positively disrupt our thinking, and having a genuine desire to lean into and solve puzzles, with the pleasure of finding insight that unlocks the answer.

We genuinely love the process and outputs of solving puzzles and can help you navigate your brand’s Critical Moments™. So when you face your next critical decision, get in touch with us to find out how we can help - it turns out we really like puzzles too.
